Form 49B

Form 49B is an application for a TAN number (tax deduction or collection account number) assigned under section 203A of the Income Tax Act, 1961. All organizations authorized to collect taxes on behalf of the Income Tax department are given a 10-digit unique number called a TAN. To deduct TDS from transactions, TAN registration would be necessary.

Form 49B’s contents

  • Details about the position and the individual’s designation are included in the first part.
  • The person’s full residential address is required in the second section.
  • The person’s nationality is provided in the third section.
  • The TAN number must be entered in the following field.
  • The next part must contain the data related to form submission.
  • The applicant must supply the assessing officer’s details.
  • The applicant must provide their personal information.
  • Finally, the candidate must sign or leave a thumb impression.
