When an employee is unhappy and unsatisfied with their job for a variety of reasons, such as pay, incentives, work culture, surroundings, colleague conduct, poor management, a limited personal life, a poor work-life balance, etc., this is known as job discontent. Employee dissatisfaction increases the likelihood that the organization will lose that employee. Because of their comfort level, health, or fear of change, some people may decide to remain with the same company.
