The Employee Provident Fund Organisation allots UANs (Universal Account Numbers) to link various member IDs. A single number is allotted to each member, which helps in easily identifying their details.
If a company deals in Provident Funds, the employer should give UNA to the employee at the time of their joining and if an employee is already registered under Provident fund, they should give the number to the new company. Then, the employer will link the member ID to the UAN to ensure that the member’s provident fund and other documents are linked to one UAN and that the member is not linked to other organisations. This eventually helps maintain constant contributions and provides accessibility to PF services.
Steps to follow after downloading UAN
- Disseminate the UAN: Complete the Form-11 which reflects the confirmation of previous employment.
- Enter the KYC details: Upload some KYC details with the help of creating a Tax file as the EPFP structure.
