Termination letter refers to the formal document given to the employee by the employer at the time when he or she is terminated. It reflects the formal information and a recording of the end of an employment period of an employee. It is also known as a notice of termination.
This formal document includes the name of the employee, its designation and the name of the company. Most importantly it includes the reasons why the employee is been terminated. The termination of the employee occurs due to several reasons like misconduct in the organisation, irresponsible behaviour of the employee on the company or sudden loss of the business. In such cases, it is very essential to take some necessary action like giving a warning letter or arranging a performance improvement programme before giving a termination letter.
