It is a term used to describe a candidate with skills and expertise that are very rare in the employee market and are almost mythical. They specifically meet all the requirements of the candidate and manage the job duties without any questioning. It is very tough for the employer to have a purple unicorn in the company. There are two types of purple unicorn candidates: pink unicorn (a passive candidate) and unicorn with wings (active candidate). The pink unicorn is referred to as the engaging, happy and productive candidate. Such types of employees are highly open to new job opportunities. They do not look for another job frequently and serve the company for a longer time.
