Learning and Development: What Is It?

The methodical process of gaining knowledge, abilities, attitudes, and competences to improve an employee’s performance is known as learning and development, or L&D. The HR division, L&D specialists, mentors, and outside trainers all participate in this ongoing process. Its primary objectives are to boost output, enhance performance, and encourage innovation and collaboration. Which are the primary L&D modes?

  • OJT, or on-the-job training: Employees learn from this by getting their hands dirty and taking part in the real actions. It includes apprenticeships, job rotations, and job shadowing.
  • Multiple learning modalities, such as e-learning, mobile learning, and ILT, are combined in blended learning. It offers a versatile method that enables students of varied backgrounds to adjust to the procedure.
