An internship is the term used to describe the time an intern spends working briefly for a firm. It is a brief work experience that allows students and recent college graduates to learn and stay in a company to get real-world business skills before moving on to a full-time position. An intern may not receive full compensation throughout their internship, or they may not receive any compensation at all. It differs greatly from business to business. Interns typically spend their time working on pertinent projects, learning about the field, networking with industry professionals, and honing their hard and soft skills. Full-time employment offers might occasionally result from internships.
