The amount of tax deducted at source, the mode of payment, and the tax paid with the IT department on income other than salaries are all shown on Form 16A, an employer’s certificate of tax deduction at source (TDS). Typically, Form 16 is released once a year. It contains the data needed to create and submit an income tax return.
Items that Make Up Form 16A
- Name, TAN, and PAN of the tax-deducting employer.
- The day that the tax was taken out of the paycheck
- number on the TDS payment receipt.
- An overview of the employee’s compensation.
- The date that taxes are deposited into the government’s account
