Food coupons are vouchers that businesses provide to their staff so they can eat whenever it’s convenient for them. Salespeople and employees who work in the field or go out of town for office-related business are the main users of food coupons. In India, food coupons are exempt from taxes up to INR 50 each meal. It must be used during working hours and is limited to two meals each day. Employer-issued meal vouchers or food coupons are nontransferable and must be used at food courts, restaurants, or other dining establishments.
