The organized process of limiting the search on databases like Google, LinkedIn, ATS, CRM, and others by utilizing mathematical operators like AND, OR, and NOT is known as boolean search. Having a specific set of instructions makes it easier to find more relevant search results. The foundation of Boolean search is the English mathematician George Boolean logic, who lived in the 19th century.
Operators for Boolean Search AND
The search results are narrowed down by an AND operator. When two keywords are combined, a search for posts that contain both of them is conducted. “Cats AND Dogs,” for instance, will return any posts that contain both terms.
OR
The search is expanded using an OR operator. Any posts that include at least one of the search criteria will be returned.
Posts that contain the keyword are excluded by the NOT operator.
