The Behaviorally Anchored Rating Scale is known by its abbreviation, BARS. This measurement tool was created to help the employee appraisal process benefit from both quantitative and qualitative data. This rating system assigns ratings to workers according to their performance and patterns of behavior. In order to assign a numerical value that serves as the foundation for performance ratings, BARS compares an employee’s performance with particular instances. Writing Critical Incident Techniques, or CIT, is the first phase in the BARS process. These are the methods for recording human behavior that is significant in a certain field.
